This album, released just two years before Hoosegow's "Mighty," was, from what I can tell, Sharp's first real stab at the blues, and compared to Hoosegow, he plays it remarkably faithfully. This is a purely instrumental, electric trio album that is a logical extension of Hendrix's more blues-based material/5(3).

Elliot Sharp's Terraplane: Forgery album review by Eyal Hareuveni, published on December 20, Mingus' gentle vocal on the acoustic "How Much Longer Blues" sounds like an updated message from Mississippi-born Howlin' Wolf. The concluding and amusing "Boom Baby Boom," with its repeated three-word text line, can also be viewedas a sharp.

Each Terraplane recording reveals new facets to of the band, from the rootsy tribute of the eponymous debut in , the psychedelic jungle intensity of Blues For Next, to the emotional power of 's Forgery. The latest CD, Sky Road Songs, will be released in Spring by MC Records in the US and Enja in Europe.

The original Zoar release has long been hard to come by, but Intuition's reissue is much easier to come by at typical CD prices (if you appreciate Downtown Music, you probably know how to find it), and includes 5 bonus tracks not on the Zoar release: music written for plays Yellowman and Raw Boys during the same period, inspired by blues /5(3).
