Saturday Looks Good To Me's albums from the early 's (All Your Summer Songs, Every Night) predicted the reverb-saturated production and girl-group revisitations that indie rock would embrace several years down the road. One Kiss Ends It All expands on those early lo-fi marvels and feels more like a revelation than a continuance.5/5(1).

Since Michigan's Fred Thomas recorded Saturday Looks Good to Me's debut in , this indie pop project has developed considerably since his original, whimsical premise of creating an album by a band that didn't exist. With Thomas as the fulcrum, lineup changes have been a major theme of the band, as has his masterful ability to draw on '60s pop -- from Spector to Wilson, Motown to the Zombies 8/

Everything about Saturday Looks Good to Me ’s newest album, One Kiss Ends it All is sweet, not aw-yeah-man-that’s-sweet sweet, but genuine rosy-cheeks-fresh-flowers sweet. The melodies, the lyrics, even the percussion is sugar-coated with sunshiny, bubblegum twee sounds that are pleasantly innocent.

May 30,  · If you’re thinking that these criticisms of One Kiss Ends It All are intended to insinuate that it is not worth your time, allow me to clarify: OKEIA is a good album, with a few fantastic songs (“New City,” “Polar Bear,” “Sunglasses”), mostly good ones, and only a couple missteps. The issue is that it could have been much better.

Saturday Looks Good To Me One Kiss Ends It All the song Johnny is a bit of a dull affair, without much to keep the listener's attention and plenty of empty space to lose it. Fortunately, these random detours into boring aren't the norm on the album. Overall, One Kiss Ends It All is a little uneven but still an enjoyable piece of cosmic pop.
